Freedom. What does it mean to be free? Do you feel that you're free?

John 8:31-37

Jesus said to the people who believed in him, "You are truly my disciples if you keep obeying my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." "But we are descendants of Abraham," they said. "We have never been slaves to anyone on earth. What do you mean, 'set free'?" Jesus replied, "I assure you that everyone who sins is a slave of sin. A slave is not a permanent member of the family, but a son is part of the family forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will indeed be free. Yes, I realize that you are descendants of Abraham. And yet some of you are trying to kill me because my message does not find a place in your hearts.

Do you want a revolution!! lol - that reminds me of an old (think bible college days late 90's) song that Darrin wrote for Skypilot. "We want to see a revolution, a revolution of the soul..." It was actually a pretty sweet song, and on a VERY limited edition cd!! lol

Defition of revolution: a sudden, radical, or complete change c : activity or movement designed to effect fundamental changes d : a fundamental change in the way of thinking about or visualizing something : a change of paradigm

I really feel like we have the potential to effect our society/ those around us by the way that we choose to follow God. From Colossians 3 I had three thoughts - keep focused on Jesus, turn from sin, and live as a representative of Jesus. Do you think you're up for the challenge of living a God-centered life, rather then the me-centered/ pleasure driven life that as part of the fabric of our society? It's not easy, it's going to be a struggle, but what revolution doesn't come without struggle? Is it worth it? I really belive so! I so want to see people deciding to follow Jesus after seeing/ experienced the difference that Jesus has made in us!

What does it look like to live, putting God first, to you?

Kyle talked about treasure last night. Not the kind that we'll be seeing this weekend with Pirates of the Caribbean, but the kind of treasure that has a deep place in our heart. Where is our hearts at if our treasures are an indicator of our heart? God should be the treasure that we long to persue more then anything else, yet it's safe to say that He often gets crowded out by many other things that can take up our attention in this life.
